The Story Telling of the African American Community
In the united states, there was a study done around individualistic cultures versus collected as cultures. And i think critical race theory is something that i used in my work to get something that helps to explain, ah better, why story telling is really, really important to us. We come from a story telling, helin, collectivistic space. So understanding that as therapist, especially white therapist, maye be able to support a black and brown theopist. But if we need to be the treaters, then we will always engage in some forms of micro aggressive behavior and invalidate the experience of the client. That's how healing will occur.
