i haven't used a mouse since the nineties, cause i got it from one of my bosses at mack user. What killed the track ball is the innovation of the scroll wheel. I think that if they do iphone with a mag safe charger, or wireless charging of any kind, it's going to be mag safe. A glass backed ipad sounds too heavy. So maybe a exposed mag safe ring, sort of like the clear IPad case.
