The Battle of Spartacus

Mardonius sent out his cavalry once again to harass the back of the Greek lines. In doing so, they blocked their supply lines and poisoned a spring that had been the source of water for the whole Greek army. Aristodemus, the only one of the 300 Spartans not to have died at Thermopylae, fought with suicidal recklessness. He charged like a madman out of the Phalanx and killed several Persians on his own before dying. With their general now dead, the Persians began to flee in disorder back across the Asapis to take refuge.
