The Three Horses of Nature and Growth
The word for nature and grow or the, that footnote is a little too clever. It is naturally conjoined because nature and growth are conceptually so intertwined. In his vision, none of them is ever apart. There's always three of them, but one may have more strength than the other. Your bad horse might overwhelm and not be able to be tamed by the charioteer.
