Labor's Plans for the Future Workforce
The government's been promising the Senate's workforce plan for quite a few months now and we've actually seen no signs of it anywhere. Wes Streating talked about this he said it was completely unforgivable that it hasn't published this plan but we do know that a lot of work on it has already been done. Labor says that action on a workforce is desperately needed and they do have their own plans for how to tackle this which will maybe come on to in a bit. In 2015 as a reminder the Conservatives promised to increase the workforce by 5,000 GPs and since then it's actually shrunk by 2000.
