There are powerful words of admonition here, lessons to be learned. Paul said very similar words to the ephesians as he wrote to them in chapter five. John cassion was a church a monk in about the fourth century a d and he instructed his fellow monks to recite the psalms with the deepest emotion of the heart. And that's my prayer to day, that what we study in the book of psalms will become personal prayers for each of us. I want to feel godly sorrow and a broken heart and a contrite spirit like that.
