The second great unifier was Toyotomi Hideyoshi, 1537 to 1598. Unlike Audan Obunaga, he was born into a family of peasants. He started his life as a foot soldier and a sandal bearer of Obunaga. After Nobunaga's death, he defeated Akichimisuhire who was responsible for Nobunaga’s death. And also many other political rivals, including Tokugawa Yasu, who was the final unifier.
