LinkedIn recently did some research on a half million members and found that the strongest predictor of who would go on to become an executive was the number of different job functions someone had worked across in their field. I tell every single person before they enter the culinary arts wash dishes. If you can't love or learn to love this, this is not going to be the job for you.
