The Importance of Criticism of Jefferson

A lot of the reprehensible things that he did came from those later years like he had an early more idealistic stage and seems like he fell away from that. And so I think it's also important that when we criticize Jefferson to draw a line between the young Jefferson and the older Jefferson who seemed to lapse in his purpose. There are these concrete things he did, especially as a young man, which deserve right recognition and honor even despite his complicated legacy.
