The Science of Science

Lewis was deeply opposed to the practice of vivisection. He thought that was an example of science's desire to conquer nature. Good science, for him, is when it explained and would not explain away. And then he goes on to say, in a word, it would conquer nature without being conquered by her. It would buy knowledge at a lower cost than that of life. But i don't really know that much either.
