The acetyl-CoA would directly inhibit the use of carbohydrate for energy by inhibiting pyruvate dehydrogenase. Electrons are inefficiently funneled into lactate production because they can't find their way to the respiratory chain. The co-ice-equastration would hurt the ability to burn fatty acids and many amino acids for energy. And then I ate a burger, and the protein provided enough bightened sparing amino acids to get the citric acid cycle rolling.
