How Did President Roosevelt Use the Binary Choice Making in Rhetoric?

Roosevelt used the sort of binary choice making a lot in his rhetoric. He said if you met these three points, then the country should treat you as an American. For him, the hyphen meant disloyalty for those Germans that kept it. So he gave this sort of three-part plan to African-Americans, Native Americans, German-Americans. His rhetoric is about almost a rhetoric of stability, cultural stability.
