The Moral Compass of the West
The modern state is not against morals in that the routine sense in criminal courts in Britain and American France and so on do operate or try and operate on the principles of justice. But Halak is making a slightly more, yes, a soft point, but it would be wrong to conclude,. if anyone was concluding by the way, that Halak is saying that the West doesn't have any moral compass at all in its legal or other institutions. He's not saying that. He's saying something's like different, isn't he? Yes, yeah. So Halak is says that basically the morality that exists within a modern state is minimalist. It's thin. It's calculated upon utilitarian logic
