I created something which I called the rich habitat garden in 1979. Peter Seabrook looked at me and said, you really think Britain's gardeners are going to be interested in that? The RHS were completely wrong-footed by it,. So much so that on my Chelsea medal, it actually is inscribed on the back to J.C. Baines for his wildfire garden.
