This season, almost at semester, we're trying to help you develop a vocabulary around the things that are true about God. John Calvin says nearly the whole of sacred doctrine consists in these two parts, knowledge of God and of ourselves. We often want to rush to what does it mean for me? What does this say about me? Who am I in light of X or Y or Z? But there is a proper flow in scripture,. knowledge of God, knowledge of self. And they're intimately related, but one does come before the other and it is knowledge of God.
