i found myself reflecting a bit on what target in particular meant to me as a like not out yet but definitely semi-aware queer kid in a small town in south carolina and i think there's a funny way in which target kind of represented a liberal safe space to me growing up. There's something about maybe just that store but possibly other other companies feeling like either little safe oasis or like allies to some extent depending on where you live and what your context is. It feels like a regional question to me and i wonder if our listeners don't live on the east coast or whatever who live in smaller places share that sense it may not be radical anti-capitalist sort of politics that i
