Introduction
Every Irish schoolchild had to make St. Brigitte's crosses at this time of year. The cross is handmade from straw and it doesn't look like a cross like a crucifix. It's a cross on its side, kind of diagonal. Swat stickers have been around for 1,000 years but they're present in eastern religions to mean rebirt. In February people would hang them over their door to protect the house from fire or to protect it from evil spirits.
