I think that a lot of what was going on with me then was about something that I talk about in life is hard in connection with failure, which is being very project driven. We've sort of defined our life in terms of a project that we're trying to complete rather than thinking of living as this ongoing thing that really matters. It's connected with the way in which we torture ourselves with a sense of being a failure or dream of being a success. And so one of the risks of hope is that it will sort of be a substitute for action.
