Rousseau was pretty hardcore in his anger about what we call progress, et cetera. The Oshana Sea fellowships were originally going to be called the Atlantean fellowships because I took my inspiration from Bacon's utopian novel on Atlantis. And so the idea also seems to me to be really, you need to look at evolution and evolution of human psychology to understand why this precautionary principle and pessimism are far more appealing than innovation.
