Jefferson's Vision for Foreign Policy
John Quincy Adams' foreign policy set the stage for next centuries of American history. He got us Florida's by which we mean the state of Florida, but also the Gulf coast for about 150 miles all the way to Texas. The Louisiana purchase had been a little uncertain about the Northern boundaries. JQ Adams works it out with Britain and the 49th parallel becomes the Northern boundary once and for all of the United States.
