Mark Doty talks about a poem that's called You Are Gorgeous and I'm Coming in which the opening lines are vaguely I hear the purple roar of the tour down Third Avenue L it sways slightly but firmly like a hand or a golden down sigh. If you could hear the onrush of that bodily event unstoppable as an approaching train right? And I think this is the thing about ahara is that he is not standing and looking out at something outside of himself it is happening in and through him.
