The Key and the Kite
The key and the kite might be one of Benjamin Franklin's most famous moments. The electrical question had been floating around in his mind since at least 1745. He firmly believed that turkeys should be America's national bird, and got into a fight with John Adams and Thomas Jefferson over the subject. And here's the crazy part: Franklin believed that his beloved electricity was in fact the best way to cook a turkey.
