The Regusea pod is back with a new episode. This week we're talking about the cruise farm video and Magit Baty who runs Cruise Farm in Knoxville, Tennessee. Yeah. Generally making very deep criticisms about economic inequality and stuff like that. Like yeah. Really catchy radio friendly songs that were really pretty lyrically complex and had a real message all around the same theme but in different ways and in ways that I think made people who felt like the world didn't see them made them

feel seen.

Yeah you know in a world where in a country where in the United States where like media had been historically dominated from the coasts right. It's like Chicago thrown in there for you know. A little bit of fun. Yeah I had to. We were from the farm. Yeah. Chicago Illinois. Yeah exactly. And so for kids in the interior especially in farm towns to see themselves in a song would have made them feel like their life was worth singing about to and they loved him for that and when we lived in Indiana everyone there regardless of you know whether they agreed with his pro democratic party politics like they loved him. They loved him for that. Yeah they felt that the fact that he talked about farm work and farmers and that transcended

belief that Bill Clinton sucked you know. Like they were like it doesn't matter who we voted for because he's for us. I don't care what politician he's for he's for us and like in that way I think he probably managed to bring more people along to some of his ways of thinking because he spoke to them in their language. More bees with honey. Yeah. But I would like to argue that I think it's there's an instructive example here that all of us can take in our own lives going forward. How can we be better people when we walk out of this room? If you're if you're someone who gets kind of frustrated by like you know Disney or whatever media companies like kind of shoehorning diversity into their products like you know making a black Ariel or whatever if you're the kind of person who is frustrated by that. But at the same time like you have been you were gratified by the recognition that you got from like a John Mellon camp song or something like a John Mellon camp song where that they saw you and your life and thought thought that it was worth putting in a song that lots of people would hear. Think about how that made you feel and realize that that's what's at play when other groups don't look like you. Yeah. Other groups of people who have also not historically been seen what it could mean to them to for someone to say hey you you matter enough people like you matter enough that I'm going to put you in a movie or I'm going to write a song about you or I'm going to publish your song and I think that's a good lesson for us all to remember. Shall we leave it there? Sure. Okay. Thanks for rocking the Regusea pod for this one. Thanks for coming on this journey with us. So another thing I wanted to say is so a lot of people might have seen the cruise farm video where I went out to this local dairy farm this like beloved local dairy farm in Knoxville called Cruise Farm and the guy there in Magit Baty who runs the farm. Everybody loves Magit because he's like he's two I mean he's two the camera born though he doesn't realize it. And he's so nice. He's so nice and charismatic and handsome and like and handsome in handsome in a specific way that looks good that reads on camera which is a specific thing. And he's like he's like such a giant like dairy nerd his wealth of knowledge is enormous. And he's just awesome and at the same time like he comes he comes from this like curious kind of cultural background where he's like he's he's I think was born in America but he's of Indian heritage is his parents are Indian and he grew up with like in Indian lacto vegetarian culture in Indian dairy food which is extremely intense and awesome and beloved and you really grew up loving all of that stuff and then like married this white girl from you know East Tennessee and therefore married into the her family business which was this farm and and he has since become like the you know the beloved son of that family and and his so his and his his whole kind of cultural perspective is fascinating and I love this guy so I want to just like do a podcast with Magit and we just want to call it like ask the dairy farmer or something like that you know or ask men's eat whatever the hell you want to ask it's an AMA with the handsome guy from the guy's cream video okay is what we're going to do so please if you have something for that put men's eat in the subject line and then JIT or your best attempt I'll recognize it put men's eat into the subject line and give me just a text for this I don't need I don't need you know videos or audio files because I'm just going to read him some questions so you can just write up a tiny little question for men jit put that in the subject line send it to ask Adam questions at gmail.com ask Adam questions at gmail.com thank you for being here honey you're the best thanks for having me and make good choices about like who you go behind a tree with that's right you could end up on their podcast in 15 20 years it was stuck on a chilly dog talk to you next time.
