I like this line from your book, nobody has ever been persuaded out of a deeply held conviction by force. What people learn to do is they learn to to self censor. They learn to keep their opinions to themselves. You end up withthis thing caled preference falsification. If everyone just said what they thought, you would know who you are voting for and also you could address and engage in debate and deal with the issues. And we get absolutely nowhere because certain people with certain views get demonized for not having the popular opinion. It's like the high school playground writ large.
