John Adams and Jefferson

John Adams served as vice president to George Washington. He and Jefferson were very close during the time of the revolution. They became rivals after they came back from serving abroad in France. After their retirement, it was Adams who wrote to Jefferson saying "It's time that we make up and be friends again"
