Bruno was an egyptian alchemist who came into the church at a time when copernican theory was coming into existence. The liberals liked to kind of paint him as like this martyr for copernicus, which is not actually what was happening. So christians alone have the right to stand on the scientific method, because we alone understand that god ordered the universe in such a way that it is observable and that science is repeatable.
