How to Present at a UX Conference
I don't have a UX background. So when I first started presenting at UX conferences, my first question was, why did you invite me? And what is it that you hope to get? It took me a while to really understand what people were hoping to get out of. You know, what I had to offer. We definitely felt like we could, when we introduced our empathy map, felt like we can build on that in several different ways quickly and choose other things. The empathy map allows a team to very quickly get aligned around their customer - whoever that might be. Sometimes the customer is your boss. But to get aligned about what that person really cares about and what's important.
