The Importance of Academic Training in Policy

Jude: Government is much harder. It's probably less fun. I remember Mike once you and I were sitting down listening to anecdotes from Richard Matage in his years when he was at the Pentagon in the Reagan administration. Maybe it's just the period that we're living in, but the state seem to be there. And so many people that go into policy now are coming from law school or other academic fields like political science. Jude: Some types of degrees can indeed make great training for future policy makers.
