The Importance of Worship

Worship in light manner is our perfection, not gods. To refuse to worship is to deny a dependence that makes us independent. Man who refuses to worship God knows that he is not a creator. He even knows that he could not be godless. If there were no gods, God made you to be happy. That is how we are to find everyone else lovable to. We put some of our love into them and they become lovable. But God does not love us because he needs us. He loves us because he puts some of his love into us. The gift is his perfection, not hers.
