The Dream of Judah Maccabee
In 2nd Maccabees 15 we read, Encouraging his men from the law and the prophets. He cheered them all by relating a dream which was worthy of belief. Catholic theological tradition has recognized that other spirits such as souls and purgatory can also make contact. But when it comes to contacting the dead, you're taking the initiative to reach them.
