Lemiz tells the story of jean. Valjean imprisoned for 19 years for stealing a loaf of bread, which he did for his sister's starving child. Prison hardens valjean, but he finally gets out and softens becomes the leader of a town and an industrialist. The street barricades are part of a later revolution, one that took place in the 18 thirties - brought about due to conditions in paris. Society is culpable in not providing a free education for all, and it must answer for the night which it produces. If the soul is left in darkness, sins will be committed.
