The Principle of Sufficient Reason
There's the principle of sufficient reason. The idea that anything that's true or in milder forms anything that's contingently true requires an explanation for its truth. If something can only be necessary or contingent one or the other and you're looking for an explanation that is outside of the set of contingent things you've got a necessary being.
