With wyfi, it is ultimately up to the client device to make a decision about which access point to connect to. If all the s s ideas are the same, then that decision is just made based on what it sees about these other devices. However, a mesh network can give hints to the device, suggesting that it chows one thing over another. And i'm wondering if having a repeater on the same s s idea that the mesh does not know about might be the source of confusion here. It's possible it's getting some hints that don't reconcile with this one, sort of rogue s s i d.
