The Importance of External Comfort
When a child wants comfort, give it. Never mind this thing about, but they're doing it for attention. Yes, they are. And that means you need to give attention because once they've had enough attention, that's then and only then that you learn to internalize the comfort you get from your loving ones so that you can tell yourself things like it hurts now, but it won't hurt in a minute. You learn those things. So even when we're quite old, I'm 65, we still need some external comfort for big bloopers. It was just delayed comfort. She didn't want comfort for teachers.
