The Confessions and the Confession of Augustine
In Augustine's age, as in our own, it's one that's particularly pronounced. There is something about the confessions that just has really held the attention of moderns. And so that negotiation, I think, is felt in the confessions and does make it a kind of familiar dynamic to something that we're experiencing now.
