Isaac Murphy: The Rise and Fall of a Black Jockey

Catherine C. Mooney is the James P. Jones Associate Professor of History at Florida State University. Her latest book, Isaac Murphy, the rise and fall of a black jockey, just came out two weeks ago. She says it's an exciting biography of a man who's one of the first African American superstar athletes. And she hopes to use his life to talk about this pivotal period in American history.
