The Cost of Monetizing Your Customer Base
The likes of Monzo, Starling in the last few weeks have announced they're planning an IPO in 2022. The business model is not to actually make any money; this model is to grow customers. And if you're business models to grow customers, then the easiest way to do it is by not making any money. But at some point eventually, the bubble has to transform and either burst or all these guys are going to have to start learning how to make money for a better customer experience.
