Mexico on the Economics Explained National Leaderboard

Mexico has a GDP of 1.3 trillion US dollars, which makes it the 15th largest economy in the world. The country certainly has its problems with crime and corruption, there's no getting around that. Long term it's going to be important for Mexico to clear up these other issues, but for now it's doing a good enough job of convincing US-based companies that it's a safe enough place to set up shop.
