The Path Dependence of Entrepreneurs
Arthur Rock, the person who founded or was co-founded Fairchild Semiconductor in 1957 by doing the investment in that sort of grandfather company in the valley. And then he was successful with it. That role model of success is what starts the snowball rolling. I think you can say that the very early original story is luck, but then there's path dependency that follows from the luck as others see that you can make money in this way.
