Turkey Is Going to Lose Its Monetary Autonomy
Turkish banks are well aware of the hesidency of their customers to have savings in turkish lira, even with incredibly high interest rates on offer. Most people just don't trust the stability of the currency. The government has announced plans to introduce a new type of savings account which will protect borrowers from headline inflation. It's unusual, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
