Golden Rule and People's Temple

People's temple was welcomed and well received by golden rule, who allowed jim to use their schoolhouse to conduct temple services until he could find a place of their own. Ah, but very soon the relationship went sour. Jim just couldn't help himself. Ad he and his people started plotting and began to systematically trying to recruit away golden rule memberswho were sensitive to his racial justice message. He suggested that the two churches merge with one another. And the golden rule elders, by that point, kind of saw what was going on, so they voted down the merger and told people's temple they had to move on.
