The Ancients

00:00

The Origins of Lilith

In ancient Mesopotamia, there is a child snatching demoness called Lamachtu. She has horribly long fingers that she uses for plunging into baby's bellies and pulling out babies before their time. There is also another demoness in Mesopotamia called Liti or Ardat Lily. The ghosts of girls who died before they were married are more sympathetic than fearful. It's almost the opposite of a Lamachtu incantation.
