Hernandez can trace a lot of back to defense because you talked about that game the first game when Hernandez had the two errors that probably added 20 30 pitches to Whitlock's pitch total those two errors and yeah the result of that is Bullpen had to come in earlier. The Rays just do all the fundamental things correctly like they might make an error here in there but as you said the hit and run where you know Yandy Diaz hits it and Margot is just full steam from first base scores easily. You just never know what's going to happen when the ball isn't play and the Rays are just so good at taking advantage of any little miscue any lapse in judgment.
