By the mid-1970s, synodon had around 200 children living at the tamales property. The madness that had begun to infect synod in the middle 1960s had blossomed into full-blown psychosis. Synonon viewed itself as building something like an army. In 1976, members were given an ultimatum: have the sectimes or leave the organization.
