The war elephant itself would have been fairly frightfully decorated. Sow very, very bright patterns all over its head. You would have seen it wearing a bell around its neck. Some of them even had swords tied to their tusks. In their trunks, you'd see them carrying stuff like mases or swords, or even chains, just attached to the trunks. So as it's waving around, it hits as many people as it possibly can. They would have been trained to kind of shoot so rapidly that the second they loose an arrow, they have another one,.
