When i was a professor, the the challenge i was constantly facing, just psychologically, was that a lot of the highly successful academics around me didn't really feel mometically inspired. You do have to situate yourself in a game where and in a social environment where the memetic tendencies are going to be alined with what you really want to do. And if you don't really get into those cliques, yes, that's great. You just don't have the motivational force to to do that. I think greatness is always going to be very uevenly distributed because of how important these memetic forces are as a motivationa force.
