In 1912, the company was listed on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange and became a limited company called Glow-Ilompin-Fabrikin. A liability company is meant to protect the people that invest in it. It thus gives you an incentive to invest in the company because you're protected from anything really unfortunate. So for example, if it's proven that the company mishandled funds in some criminal way, you have a level of protection because of the nature of that organization.
