The Lighthouse Keepers of the Hilton
Thomas Howell and Thomas Griffith were the lighthouse keepers for over two decades. The pair lived in isolation 20 miles from the mainland during winter months. During their infrequent visits to the mainland, the men could be seen in local pubs arguing constantly. They even devised a system for passing messages to the mainland using the cliché note in a glass bottle method.
