There's also the issue that people have a lot of their wealth tied up in their homes. One of the primary ways in which americans build wealth is through owning a home. It has racial wealth gap implications that you cover in the book. But i'm almost more interested in the political implications as important as the other stuff is, because it provides a direct incentive for people to oppose this problem.
