i think he overstates the case for rhetorical effect. He claims in his is analysis that like a the return on earnings that you get from four fifths or five sixths of an alite education are non existent. And so part of the probmem we live t part of the argument, is that we live in a society where diplomas are kind of like the same reason people hire mackenzie. It's not so much to guarantee success, but a hedge against failure.
